Restaurants and Breweries

From locally inspired dishes to international cuisine from notable chefs, a trip to the area in and around Yellowstone National Park can be an amazing culinary experience. Some dishes are uniquely western, so roam out of your culinary comfort zone to really get a true taste of the American West. For instance, there are a number of restaurants that serve locally harvested elk and bison meat. Fuel the carnivore in you and try these tasty meats known for generally having less fat and more protein than beef.

Often, a restaurant’s ambience is just as amazing as the food. Go back in time at Yellowstone’s Roosevelt Lodge Dining Room, built with bark-covered logs and featuring two stone fireplaces. Before you have dinner, enjoy a drink on one of the lodge’s rocking chairs on the front porch. From there, you can watch the colors of the park’s golden hills change as the day gives way to evening.

Catch a view while you eat at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel Dining Room. For a meal with an altitude, take a tram at Jackson Hole Resort up to Corbet’s Cabin at 10,450 feet and eat hearty waffles. Read more for a more complete list of some of our favorite Yellowstone-area restaurants.
