6 Big Adventures at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Spend a day on the Via Ferrata experience, riding the gondola, tackling the ropes or biking and hiking downhill.
Right next to Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers a ton of fun. Here are six epic experiences you’ll never forget.
1. Assisted Climbing on the Via Ferrata

If scaling up a 500-foot mountain face sounds like an activity only reserved for characters in a Jon Krakauer book, think again. Now in its third summer of operation, the Via Ferrata (meaning “iron road” in Italian) at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort enables you to have a fun, secured mountain experience.
Unlike the world-renowned expert climbing routes in the Tetons, the Via Ferrata makes mountain climbing accessible for families, groups and individuals looking for adventure. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll secure yourself with cables and move across a mountain face by way of metal ladders, steel rungs, cable bridges and ledges.
Choose between a full-day climb (five hours) with lunch included or a partial-day climb (one-and-a-half to three hours) that enables you to sample some of the routes without lunch. No matter which climb you choose, you’ll be rewarded by outstanding views into the national forest next to Grand Teton.

2. Trams, Gondolas and Corbet’s Cabin

Jackson Hole Aerial Tram
All members of the family will love the famous, 100-passenger Jackson Hole Aerial Tram, which goes from Teton Village at 6,311 feet to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450 feet. The tram services winter enthusiasts, helping them reach incredible skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and whisks summer adventurers looking for great high-elevation hikes in the summer.
This unforgettable journey carries visitors an amazing 4,139 vertical feet for unbeatable views of the Tetons and surrounding Grand Teton National Park below. Passengers soar over diverse forests and often catch a glimpse of local wildlife, including bears, moose, eagles, mule deer, and more. The summit provides various trails that allow hikers to explore Rendezvous Mountain and join the 39-mile Teton Crest Trail that leads into Grand Teton National Park.
In the summer, try out the Marion Lake trail, a 12.5 mile round-trip hike that starts with a tram ride to Rendezvous Mountain, hiking higher into the mountains from there. Hikers and visitors can also enjoy mouthwatering waffles with Nutella, sugar and/or bacon at “Corbet’s Cabin” at the top of the aerial tram, 10,450ft in elevation.
For those looking for more of an adrenaline rush, tandem paragliding flights launch from the tram summit and give riders sweeping valley views, as well as the largest vertical drop in America.
The base for the tram in Teton Village is the gateway to the adventure park, and offers fun family activities, world-class restaurants, and hotels. Find more information at www.jacksonhole.com/summer-tram.
Ride Bridger Gondola
Ready for views without having to hike to see them? Take the Bridger Gondola up the mountain. At the top, visit Off Piste Market for an espresso and mouth-watering waffles. A favorite is the Traditional with brown sugar, butter and a side of bacon. Find more information at www.jacksonhole.com/gondola.
